My PSA started out at 3 three months later 6 three months later upper 6's had the biop done came back neg three months later 8's had my tissue sent to Cali for inspection came back 98 % not having cancer three months later upper 10's free psa 9's . Free psa all this time averaged between 9's and 15's. Going for the MRI at Loyola
University Hospital. My Question is Should I think I have Cancer with psa's and free's wacking out ? nono
I'am 55 yr old.

Rapid changes in PSA are often due to prostatitis. PSA due to PC tends to grow more slow and rarely drops.

You've got something going on, jumping the cancer thought is a little early. You need more tests and best you can say it's a possibility but you don't know.

No - you shouldn't think you have cancer until you have a firm diagnosis of cancer. There are many reasons for a rapidly rising PSA and a falling % free PSA, and I think the MRI is a good way to investigate them. There may be structural abnormalities like overgrowth obstructing the urethra and bladder neck that should be addressed. The biopsy may also tell you if there is an indication of acute or chronic inflammation - did the previous biopsy mention that? . Or it may find some cancer in a place that hasn't been previously sampled. All are possible.

What did you mean " had my tissue sent to Cali for inspection came back 98 % not having cancer " - was that some sort of a genetic test?

My Doctor sent my remaining tissue to a firm in Irvine California that inspect's biopsy tissue for cancer. I was told my biopsy tissue came back neg. He said that if I had it that it would be like a halo effect and they could detect it with their procedure.
