IMRT, SBRT,IGRT or other for salvage radiation

I am so confused. I thought IMRT was the way to then I see posts stating the others are better. Found out insurance won't cover proton. Bummer.

IMRT is the only one that is widely available for salvage. All others are experimental, and there's no evidence that any are any better.

Thank you, TA . Clears up a lot. Aiming for IMRT. My appointment with the RO is August third. Curious if he will put me on hormones as well.

IGRT is IMRT with conebeam CT prior to each treatment for increase accuracy and positioning. It can also reduced side effects since the radiation techs or RO can make minor daily adjustments to minimize radiation exposure to adjacent tissue. I believe almost everywhere uses IGRT/IMRT, and if fact if they don't I would go elsewhere.

Before initiating salvage radiation I spoke with two ROs and neither recommended hormone therapy, unless the psa is relatively high. I don't know what the threshold is, perhaps over .2 or possibly even higher.
