Well I got the six-month Lupron shot today. I'll let you all know how I do on it.

Bohemond, sorry if my post offended you. I know this is a
very sensitive subject.

My urologist wanted me to start Lupron when my PSA hit 5.0.
When asked about diet and exercise, he dismissed it. That was
4 1/2 years ago, and if I listened to him, I would be on Lupron
now. Instead, I worked on a D&E program, and my last four
PSA numbers (from oldest to newest) are:
0.461
0.448
0.455
0.447

You said in an earlier post . . . "For now my RO is more inclined to make a decision
when to start ADT based on doubling time rather than an absolute psa number."

If you want to try to increase your PSADT with D&E, I'll help.

Re-read what I wrote. I don't know what you found unclear.

I guess I was surprised to hear that there are oncologists that are recommending ADT with a stable .2 - .3 PSA. I just wanted to make sure I was reading that correctly. That there wasn't more to it - that the PSA was still rising or an aggressive high gleason or some other fact. I guess you just meant what you said, they recommend ADT immediately when PSA hits .2 post salvage. I was thinking we weren't at a decision making place but I guess there are options for where my husband is at right now.

Cashless Clay I was wondering if you could include your signature so I could compare our diagnosis. I started Lupron almost two months ago and yes i have noticed a couple of side effects the biggest one so far has been the pain in my hands and trouble sleeping. I would like to be around long enough to see my grandson graduate from school so that's at least 13 yrs away and with my post op results I'll probably need a little help. I watched my Mom go thru 6 yrs of hell with ALS I don't believe any SE from prostate cancer treatment would even come close!
