If they absolutely know the mass is cancerous and there are proven mets in his ribs, I'm not sure why your dad wouldn't want to start ADT now. While they can't do radiation to the prostate bed, can they do spot radiation to the ribs and try and pick off those mets?
I agree. I think starting the ADT now would be best. Dad is 75 now and hopefully that can hold the PC off for a few years. I’m not sure how else they’d know for sure about
what they see on the scan. It’s my understanding that what they injected into him for the scan would light up any prostate cancer. I’m guessing the Lupron would just halt the growth in the ribs and not kill the cancer unless they did radiation? I know the doctor said the Lupron should shrink the mass in the prostate bed. It’s unfortunate they can’t hit that spot again.
