Salvage whole pelvic radiation after cancerous pelvic lymph nodes have been found

thanks for that report Allen I didn't have the cancerous lymph node as far as we know but the rest sure applies to me : The patient underwent radical prostatectomy and extended bilateral pelvic lymph node dissection. Pathology showed a Gleason 4 + 5 adenocarcinoma measuring 3.5 x 1.5 x 1.2 cm bilaterally with focal right extraprostatic tumor extension, bilateral seminal vesicle invasion, but uninvolved surgical margins, no lymphovascular invasion, and 35 pelvic lymph nodes free of cancer. I think I'm just having prostate area radiation will have to clarify that for sure in our weekly meeting.

Thanks a lot for sharing this link which led me to your main blog where I have been reading for the last few hours a ton of extremely informative articles you have put together. This should be in a separate thread.

If I may ask about an article about PC progression for Gleason 6 - the article very interesting states that Gleason 8 cells and Gleason 6 cells only shared less than 10 % of genetic code suggesting that Gleason 8 may not have originated from Gleason 6.

The article even more interestingly points out that not all Gleason 6 are alike - some may metastasis while most remain indolent based on weather they retain the cancer suppressant genes like the P53.

So to my question - the article doesn't say much about Gleason 7. So for the patten 4s within the 7 , if the p53 is present in the cancer cell - can that suggest lesser chance for eventual metastasis?

I'm in the PSA anxiety zone for the next few weeks !
