PSA almost doubled 3 months post biopsy. Normal?

Had a Biopsy in November, which was clean and no PNI. Just went in to see the Uro to have a general follow up, Uriflow measurements and refill my Flomax prescription. Found out my PSA had jumped from 9.9 in October to 18.5 last week, 3 months post biopsy. For the time being I am trying not to be too worried about this as it is probably trauma, increase in infection etc. I am going for another PSA test late March to see how it is, but just wanted to hear your thoughts. Am I right to think this is probably trauma/infection/aggravation of Prostatitis?

What Andrew said. Too big a jump to be typical of prostate cancer. Likely Inflammation/prostatitis

Not wanting to be a Debbie Downer here, but my PSA went from 9 before biopsy to 12 soon after. My urologist simply told me that all my tests were negative. The PSA continued to increase and a year later had doubled to 25. That's when I switched to another urologist who gave me a special MRI and discovered my prostate cancer JUST IN TIME before it had spread any further.

Not saying this is the case for you, as you probably have some other complicating factors. But you might want to keep in mind if your doctor keeps poking holes in your prostate without knowing what the heck he's shooting for.

Beg pardon, but after my experience I tend to distrust doctors. The first thing I expect a doctor to do is to consider the possibility that the patient may actually have a problem, rather than just running whatever tests he needs to run in order to convince him that there's nothing wrong.

Congratulations on the negative biopsy! You have every reason to believe that a sudden PSA rise it is prostatitis. I think a lot of us get prostatitis from biopsies. Think about what it is they are doing - they are boring through the s hit in your rectum and injecting the fecal material into your prostate. Antibiotics do a poor job in the dense prostate, which doesn't have a great blood supply. Just recheck in 6 months to see if the prostatitis has resolved on its own by then as it often does.
