Prostatectomy 2/28/18. Catheter out 3/8. Bladder spasms started 3/17. Went to ER that night. Probable UTI but wasn’t confirmed. Antibiotics or pain med had me throwing up so violently I didn’t eat for a week, and Abs were strained and I stayed in bed all week. Was 245 pounds in January, 224 the day of surgery. Felt another spasm and went back to ER. Kidneys weren’t working, sodium was low and sugar was high. I’m borderline diabetic. Was admitted for acute kidney injury, and after three days in the hospital, I was back to normal. Fortunately for me, the 3rd year resident put the catheter in, and it fell out 30 minutes after they sent me home. My urologist office tested me the next day and I was urinating great. That was a week ago and I’ll take my last Flow Max pill tonight. Fingers crossed.
I changed my diet a bit to be more conventional, along with taking Metformin. All seems to be well.
So, yesterday the surgeon suggested taking a bit more cialis than the 5mg therapy dose. I didn’t.
My partner and I had not been alone since before I had that setback, but after a few minutes together last night…wait for it… I HAD WOOD!!!! I was like a kid at Christmas. I guess the Doc spared enough nerves.
Last hurdle will be the PSA later.
I do have a question. How long does it take for the PSA to be zero? Are there residual antigens, if that is the correct term
