HDR BRACHY in Chicago?

We found out today that our current insurance allows us to go out of state.
We thought we had to wait two months when Medicare kicks in.

We saw our surgeon on Thursday and he was not prepared to talk about our biopsy.
He asked if we were ready for surgery next week. He did give us a referral to his ro- only does imrt.

Today we went to UAMS and the kindest Md-RO- we have ever met spoke with us for
an hour about tx options. We told him we would lean towards hdr brachy and then we could do the ebrt
back here in Arkansas?
Dan is not eligible for a trial here( the 4+3) and he cannot use brachy as monotherapy
from the stats the ro found.

So, has anyone here ever had Hdr brachy and then come home for the additional RT?
I am from Moline, Il., and have friends and relatives in Illinois- have any of you guys had brachy in Chicago?
Otherwise, we will see if we can get into UCLA.

There re also two great clinics in Atlanta that do HDRBT. I agree tha t mono-therapy is not on the table due to the PSA and number of positive cores. Let me know and Inwill get you the contact information for the Atlanta clinics.
