I had RALP 6 weeks ago. Pathology looked good. Everything is proceeding as it should, mostly.
At 4 weeks I had attempted to resume "normal activities." For me, that would be running 25 miles a week and swimming 2 miles per week. No, I did not do that. What I did do was to start walking. I've been "walking" as in I get around on my own but this was go-to-the-gym walking. I would do a 20 minute mile on the indoor track and did so every other day where I'd add a 1/4 mile. At 2 miles I notice a spot of blood in my pad afterwards but it cleared up right away. A week ago, after a 2 mile walk, I noticed a small clot, the size of pin head, and lots of blood mixed with urine. I talked to a urologist who suggested that I was overdoing it, drink lots of water, and to take it easy for 5 days. I did and things have been fine.
Today I did a 1-1/4 walk at a 23 minute/mile pace, rested and finished with a 1/2 mile walk at a 30 minute/mile pace. I don't think I was overdoing it but found another pinhead size clot and more bleeding, which cleared up on its own.
I see my urologist next week to evaluate my first post-op PSA and will definitely talk about this.
Has anyone else had this experience?
