According to my MRI report, the classification system is called "PI-RADS". After doing a little reading, I learned that this classification system is designed to standardize image acquisition and reporting, and to be used by medical professionals in the initial evaluation of patients to assess the risk of clinically significant prostate cancer that may require biopsy and treatment. It's funny, I saw the rating on my MRI report and had no idea what it meant (and the Brachy RO never bothered to mention it to me), so I had some relative good news sitting there for over a month that I didn't realize I had.
The range is from 1 to 5, with 1 being most probably benign and 5 being most probably malignant. Mine came in as a 2, which is categorized as "probably benign." Nothing changes from what I've previously posted, but 6 months into my journey, I feel cautiously optimistic.
