Good news at my 6 month RP follow up: uPSA came back at .006!!! Prolaris score came back at the top end of the "Less Aggressive" than average high risk section with a 3.3 score. 10 year biochemical recurrence risk of 57% Tried the MSK nomogram with my pathology which came back with a 48% 10 year biochemical recurrence risk.
The doctor still recommended that I have adjuvant radiation sooner than later due to the positive margin and EPE and my age of 53. Tough decision of killing all the cancer now with radiation at the positive margin and the cancer cells left on my bladder sphincter versus possible over treatment as the possibility my PSA doesn't rise for many years or at all. Maybe a better solution is available in the future with immunology or the such.
BTW, Prolaris will submit the test to your insurance as a claim, BCBS of TN denied it, Prolaris charged me $375, normal price is $3900. I believe Medicare will cover the analysis. Decipher will charge you $695 if you insurance declines. IF you are interested, check with each company, not sure when this price ends.
