I'm looking forward to your daily inputs on the ADT n SRT thread should liven it up a little mmmm something like this I drank 8 ounces to much water today so had to go get rid of it but mmmm wasn't quite that easy ended up getting rid of 16 so had got start all over!! LOL. No I'm not really picking on you Ken it happened to one of the guys that I was in treatment with!! It will just give us guys a chance to pick on a moderator a little!

F8 that's interesting, skin burning is listed as a "rare" side effect on the list they gave me. I feel lucky I didn't have that.

I’m calming down at this point I’ve got a hold of myself. I scheduled the required colonoscopy, that will be fun. I’m due in December so gotta get it done before I start. So August 27th is d-day (the d in this case stands for doody 🙄.)

Now it’s just figuring out where and on what machine I’m going to get treated. Working on that.

I’m really hoping that with my PSA still relatively low, and my 5% grade 4 cells in the g7(3+4), that I don’t have to do HT. But I’m really going to follow the Drs advice.

The cummerbund-shaped sunburn is a rare side effect. I had a little of that but it wasn't bad. It sounds like for F8 it was more of a medium-well done side effect.

It's something that happens. But not anything to worry about.

Must have been one of those old, obsolete machines.

PCa RN recommended Seven Minerals Aloe Vera Gel if any sunburn tingling. High quality stuff. I never had an issue.

Ed, he recommended I start at my LAST PSA, .068, 6bweeks ago. I wanted one more datapoint and he said it was ok.
I imagine though that the treating doc will want a PSA before I start SRT.

Not sure. Now that I know that I only had 5% grade 4 cells in my g7(3+4), and that my positive margin on frozen section was Gleason 6, I am hoping that even if I get to .1 I won’t need HT🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

Ken, my tummy got slightly pink towards the end but it was not sore or tender and I didn't do anything for it. But the rad did burn away what little fine hair was left down there by the HT. My body still looks like a ten year old's down there... well, except for the scars.

Well I certainly understand why you're not sure on the ADT then. Only 5% of 5% and low risk Decipher.

Looks like you're on the way to a cure once and for all now though! Wishing you the very best and hopefully you and your RO are able to make a decision on the ADT without too much yes or no stress and you can move on to treatment.

Well, if there's any good news here it's that this signal seems pretty clear compared to your other PSA scores. Sorry you have to treat, but glad you have a plan. Presumably, it's an easy radiation mop-up job based on the low amount of G4. Good luck!

But i think i am going to treat.

I met with my surgeon/uro today, Dr Tewari. He has been telling me to wait till it gets to .2 then do scans, so i fully expected him to continue on that path of advice. To my surprise he said i should get treatment. But i am pretty sure the reason is that as he said , he "knows me, and for my peace of mind treatment is the best course, so i dont second guess myself in the future". I wouldn't call that a medical reason, but i think he's right, its a good reason. And one that I have thought about.

He also told me about a new thing they are doing at Mt Sinai, a multi disciplinary meeting, which he offered to me. I would meet with their RO, MO and a URO (not Tewari) together, and we would discuss my case. I made the appointment for 2 weeks from today. Not sure though i may cancel it. I think the last thing i need is opinions from 3 more doctors.

He also advised me to Stick with Dr Zelefsky for treatment, and not transfer to a more convenient suburban location of MSKCC, which i had been considering. I am inclined to follow his advice, but want to think about it over the weekend and let things settle in my very turbulent brain.

Finally, he advised me to do hormone therapy, if Zelefsky still recommends it as the best course of action. I am probably going to follow that advice as well. But i am hoping in lite of the new data i got last week, (5% grade 4 cells in my g7(3+4) and positive margin on frozen section was G6), that Dr Z will say no HT necessary. I have a message in to him via the portal so we shall see.

Gonna try to forget about this for the weekend.

Andrew, I may still do the meeting, I just hate to waste peoples time and I have my mind made up. But thanks for the thoughts. I would do the meeting maybe, as long as it doesn’t cause me to delay starting treatment. I want to start yesterday

Mel, if I do HT, still an IF, it won’t be Casodex/Lupron. My RO uses Firmagon, supposedly it plunges T much faster. Sucky part is, it’s a monthly shot. But I’m about ready to just put myself in the hands of the experts. I’m exhausted from thinking about all this nonsense.
