At 11 mo post RALP, I noticed an indent in my erect penis. I went to my urologist and told him about the indent. He told me that I probably had Peyronie's but basically said there was nothing to do about it until it got much worse and then the old option was expensive surgery. He said it would probably self correct. After 3 months of watching it get worse and turn into a 20 degree left bend, I started researching more and found another urologist who treats PD. He put me on Pentoxifylline. Ever since surgery I've been taking 20 mg of viagra a day and then 100 mg when I had sex (about once a week). This new urologist said that I should be taking the 100 mg at least twice a week, to increase the blood flow. He said just do that and the Pentox for 3 month and at that time he'll inject me to get an erection and do an ultrasound. When I told him I had a VED, he said that I could do that also to keep the blood flow going on the other days. He said the odds of my PD improving was only 20-30% and there was 50% chance it would stay the same.
After the appt I thought about it more and thought that if it continues to get worse, there's a good chance that it won't get better, so I should do everything I can (within reason) to halt the progress. So I called back the doc to get clarification on how many days a week I should do the 100 mg and how often I should do the VED and should I consider a traction device. I talked to his fellow and she seemed to have a bit of an attitude about me wanting to do too much. She said I should only do the 100mg 1 - 2 times per week (wait, the doc told me once wasn't enough!). When I asked about using a traction device, she said that yes, I could do that and that there wasn't really any downside to trying that if I wanted to. When I prompted her, she did give me a couple of device recommendations.
So my question to the ones on this forum that have done the traction devices for PD, do you have any recommendations for me on which kinds work best - some have the bars and comfort band, another has sort of cap that captures the glans and then you have the option of bars vs. waist strap - any advice on which work better, are more comfortable? They claim you can wear these under pants, but that seems like it would be pretty obvious that there are unnatural bulges down there. How often do you use these? Any other helpful advice?
For the VED, I've heard 10 min per day. Any other recommendations? I've seen people on this forum post that they are doing both VED and traction - is that a good idea?
Thanks,
Bent Left...
