Without taking sides, I would honestly like to know what credentials Tall Allen possesses? His signature says he's not an MD. So, even though his advice has generally seemed to be on point, I've always had a bit of concern about someone we don't know personally dispensing serious medical advice on a forum such as HW.
Most of us offer opinions,, suggestions, personal experiences, or even reference a study that suggests a course of action or treatment to consider. But, when someone with cancer wants serious medical advice, I would think that advice should come from a doctor with appropriate medical credentials, and someone who can even be sued if the advice turns out to be harmful or wrong.
I joined HW eight years ago, not seeking lay people who might replace or even contradict my urologist or oncologist, but because the site was described as a SUPPORT site.
So, with no slight intended, but simply out of curiosity, I would be interested to know something more about Tall Allen....some education and background that would demonstrate that he is truly qualified to be giving serious medical advice.
