It’s interesting that Dr. Chapin states that doctors are motivated to treat because of financial incentives. Glad someone said the obvious.

It’s also interesting that the ASCO guidelines for low risk pathology is for serial biopsies every 3-5 years. There isn’t much published data on the frequency of biopsies for very low risk cancer - my pathology.

Dr. Epstein acknowledges that his approach may be considered controversial because his AS acceptance is more restrictive. He also makes reference to repeat biopsies in 1 or 2 years.
