Just got back from my Uro, He wants me to post pone my RT for a week or two so he can do this Urolift procedure...If he gets okay from Ins. anyone hear of it or have it done....
Seamed like to me he is pushing this procedure, His nurses desk had a bunch of these flyers on his desk, And everyone coming out had one.
I go to my RO at 1330 to talk to him about it....

Urology at UCLA.
"The UroLift System is a straightforward procedure that utilizes tiny implants to lift and hold the enlarged prostate tissue out of the way so it no longer blocks the urethra. There is no cutting, heating or removal of prostate tissue."

He may be wanting to do it before RT, as you may not be a candidate after.
If he attaches the implants to any bone that might rule you ought if you waited until RT.
RTt ruled me out for getting a sling.

But, I don't know how the implants are put into place.

First I've heard of it, but here's what a quick google search came up with:

It's for treating BPH.

Your RO should approve any procedure like this. Sounds like your URO has found a new profit center. I'd question the need for it pre-RT. Having extra things done now could affect the RO's treatment planning.

I have watched the procedure on you tube....
Just got back from talking with RO, He said it's beneficial to my treatment, I told him sorry for messing up his scheduled for RT, He said no problem, But he did say, If Ins dose not approve it, Call him and we'll move back the RT...
We will also have to do a new CT scan after the Uroflft....on 10/29
If all goes well, RT will now be around Nov 12th....
