As a GS9, and having gone through brachytherapy, SBRT and ADT, I’ve been anxiously awaiting my ADT release day. I’m now 3 months past my last injection. Started my 18 month ADT treatment with my first injection, degarelix, in March of 2017, followed one month later by my first Lupron shot. I originally thought I was scheduled for another one in October but miscalculated. I thought I needed to get my last injection on the 18th month, but it’s being on Lupron for 18 months. A welcome surprise. My MO said she would give me another shot if I wanted it, but I kindly refused. So 3 months out, my blood draw results from my visit the other day were PSA <.05 and my T is 6. Now its a waiting game. PSA staying undetectable and T making a comeback. Hoping all the ADT side effects start to dissipate, but it may take some time.

I used the so called triple play eight years ago and was on Eligard/Lupron for just over 36 months. It took about nine months after the last shot for my T level to begin to rise and abut 15 months to get back in the normal range. Side effects dissipated once the T began to rise. This varies with each person and generally the longer one is on ADT, the longer it takes for T recovery. My T was down to 3 for most of the period I was on ADT. I found that once my T started to rise, it then did so fairly quickly. I do not know what my pre-treatment T was so I don't know how fully I recovered to pre-treatment levels. Thankfully my PSA continues to be undetectable.

Congrats for getting to this point! Similar G9 diagnosis to you and I also did the Triple Play, except with HDR brachy instead of LDR. Also 18 months of ADT. I was a bit discouraged for how long it took for the hot flashes to subside--it was several (3-4?) months. But now my T is back, although it's still a bit on the low side. But best of all I have a low and steady PSA. Hope all the same for you!!! Keep us posted!

I'm 10 months past my ADT release following my triple play of ADT+IMRT+CHEMO for G9. 18months on ADT.
My T is now 65 and PSA is 0.04 up from my low of <0.01. My side effects are better. Hot flashes are far and few between . I am still fatigued probably from the low T but I feel much more energetic than I did a yr ago. It's been a slow process for me so far. I'm hoping that energy and strength will start to pick up soon.

You are correct that it is a waiting game. I'm looking forward to the time that I can see my PSA level off at a certain point and stay there for a very long time.

I must tell you....it has become a long process for me and at times I get kind of weary. But....I just keep plugging away and as I get further out from treatment I am seeing progress and that does make it better.

Congrats on getting to where you are and just keep plugging away. It's nice to be able to follow along with the few guys that are traveling along pretty much the same path as I.

My Thanks to you all. I don’t know how many high risk triple play guys are on the forum, but I don’t think there are too many. Guess we’re a special breed apart. But we all are fighting the same battle no matter the diagnosis. I think just to cover bases, I’ll put my OP in the GS9 crew also.
