I've never had Lyme disease, but I know that viruses like to settle into scar tissue. I suppose a vasectomy develops some scar tissue... again, never had one myself, but have lots of scar tissue.
Perhaps more pertinent to your post, I had a right orchiectomy six years ago, following resection of a spermatocele a decade earlier, and have always had phantom pain where my right testicle used to be. Not much that I can do about it, and I'm guessing you may be in the same boat.
