Seeking advice for a worried friend.

Well I have 3 more days of radiation left....and I’m feeling good about that. After I was Dx in Jun3 I told one of my better friends that I had a 12 needle biopsy on my prostate and that it indicated PCa...My friend age 64, in excellent health. PSA 4.2(doubling in 4yrs);15.7 free PSA, he’s been having testosterone injections for the last 6 yrs. he goes to the uro that found mine and had a Dre. The uro found a hard lump on his prostate and told him he needed a 12 needle biopsy. My friend asked about alternatives and the Uro said it was the gold standard. My friend finds a Uro in another city and had a 3T Multiperic MRI today. He says that they told him that this MRI can tell if there is cancer in his prostate. He said that they would then do a needle biopsy of any suspicious areas..to determine Gleason score and risk stratification. I disagreed with him. I told him the only way to determine if there are cancerous cells is to have the pathologist look at them under the microscope. Can the 3T MRI confirm there is cancer in this prostate. I say NO.

Yes, I believe the only way to be certain there is cancer present is by examining a piece of tissue.
