As many of you know from following my ADT N SRT thread is that I suffer from crippling back pain. I was accepted into the spine program at the Mayo Clinic where I am being treated for my PCA. I went on Monday and met with spine and surgeon doctors. I am scheduled for Surgery on Tues the 19th which will be a Laminectomy. The surgeon who has done thousands of these and who is a specialist in brain and spine surgeries believes that part of my problem is coming from the radiation that I got last year. He is giving me less than a 50% chance that having this surgery is going to relieve my symptoms of severe leg pain, numbness and tingling in my leg and almost no relief from the back pain as this is caused by arthritis in my back. I'm suppose to decide today if I want to go thru with it. I have been reading n researching since Monday nonstop to learn more. The Spine Dr. thinks I should have it as Spinal Stenosis does not get better and the prospect that nerve damage can get to the point of no return. He also agreed that Radiation could be part of the problem from which surgery will not help. I'm wondering if anybody has any experience with this and what are your thots? Thanks
Larry
