I had RP and radiation plus ADT and I'm now undetectable,I'm going to do a liver and kidneys cleanse using milk thistle and fenugreek,I think the fenugreek raises the testosterone,do you guys think it will affect me in any type of way.

If you don’t know how it will affect you then why are you doing it? What are your reasons and what are your expectations?

Had my yearly physical and my sodium and potassium, creatine were elevated, changing my diet and cleansing up my liver and kidneys to try and ward off any disease,,PSA came back at <..1..but that's not my regular lab,just my personal physician,think I'll just stick to the milk thistle cause it doesn't bother testosterone,

Just my opinion, but without any solid medical evidence to the contrary, a 'herbal cleanse' could do more harm than good with respect to your liver and kidneys...

Maybe the best cleanse is plenty of water, but even that seems suspect to me. The eight glasses of water per day I always hear about seems silly. Drinking exactly as much much water your body asks for makes sense to me.

Is there truly any way to do a “cleanse?”

I truly believe there are natural cures from herbs that exists,but to bring them forth would hurt the pharmaceutical world,I researched milk thistle and fenugreek and hundreds of living testimonial and the stuff really works,study up on both, the fenugreek really helps with blood glucose...this stuff really works,,

My 2 year battle with prostate cancer had me doing a lot of stress eating,,since that battle won I'm 30 pounds heavier,so I'm working out and trying to eat healthier,but all my blood work reading we're high....just trying to dot all t"s and cross all t's

Joker, we have a small but knowledgeable contingent here who are pretty well versed in the supplement field and I'm hoping one or more of them will weigh in soon. In the meantime I can only suggest that you alert your PCP to your plans and see if he/she has any qualms. Without knowing your medical history it's pretty hard for us to answer your question, "...do you guys think it will affect me in any type of way."

Joker, the advice given by Tudpock is good advice...make sure your Drs......ALL OF THEM......are aware of the supplements you are taking. Also, i would let the Pharmacist know as well, as you buy prescription drugs.

You may be right, IMO that the pharmaceutical industry is suppressing evidence that supplements can help fight cancer (and other diseases). I'm not a conspiracy theorist, but in this case, it makes sense from a logic point of view and i have heard experts voice that opinion.

However, i think without published science showing that supplements do what you think they do, i would be very careful. And needless to say, any alternative care treatments should be a supplement (no pun intended) to standard/proven care, not a replacement for it.

Thanks dudes, that's why I brought my questions here, no more supplement,,just water and more water exercise and diet..see my RO in 4 months.

when i'm overweight i'm a candidate for statins but as soon as I clean up my diet and lose a few pounds my numbers return to normal. there really is no easier softer way for me. and I have always exercised so stepping up my activity doesn't do much but make me tired and more injury prone.

Save your money: your liver already cleanses itself.

Pratoman -> Big Pharma is not suppressing evidence that supplements can fight cancer - show me the study.

P.s. are you asking me to show you a STUDY that proves that big pharma is suppressing evidence? 😂
Not trying to be a smart ass I just thought that was a funny request. I probably didn’t understand what you were asking for.

Ok, let’s rephrase.... I wouldn’t think the pharmaceutical industry is above suppressing evidence. It wouldn’t shock me if they were.

One of the largest and well respected supplement brand is Nature Made. It is owned by Otsuka Pharmaceuticals, the number two pharma company in Japan and a large player worldwide. In many ways big pharma is already in the supplement business not against them.

Buddy, if you poke around Netflix, and even YouTube, you’ll find lots of what I guess might be called “conspiracy Theorists” in documentaries about the medical profession, the food industry, and probably the pharma industry.

One that comes to mind is “The Widowmaker”. It documents the DECADES of suppression of the technology that can detect blocked arteries without angiogram. Basically a heart CT Scan that measures plaque load. It saves lives. But for years, reputable cardiologists were suppressing it for fear that it would eliminate the need for other procedures like cardiac catheterization.

If the Drs do it, it’s not so farfetched that big pharma would.

Don’t get me wrong. Big pharma unquestionably saves lives. But like any big for profit organization, they will protect their interests.

Buddy Blank, perhaps you missed the entire prostate cancer overtreatment epidemic which largely occurred because doctors are rewarded for "pills and procedures," and "conservative management" is not a lucrative pill or procedure. Finally, the professional medical organizations took to a strategy of "embarrass the laggards" amongst their members who were still aggressively treating low-risk PC cases...and that strategy has stemmed the tide...

First thing that comes to my mind is Kevin Trudeau - who is now in prison - who wrote the book Natural Cures "They" Don' Want You to Know about. Remember? He used to have these infomercials on all the time, late at night.
