C-4 includes beta alanine, which in theory can increase endurance in high intensity sports. The evidence is inconclusive. I drink some water before I go for a bike ride. C-4 is probably completely harmless, but it's also highly likely that it has no benefit.
preworkout drinks are loaded with caffeine, amino acids and a bunch of other garbage. they "work" for awhile but like heroin or nicotine they create a need that didn't exist before. I've taken a bunch of them over the years but now just the occasional red bull or something similar.
I think the drinks are bad for you, especially old guys.
