I saw an advertisement on social media today that said, "Screen for Prostate Cancer at Home." Another reader posted a comment to the ad saying how nice it is not to worry about the dreaded Anal Probe that is normally required. The company did respond and tell him that the anal probe is still an important tool used to determine prostate health. I went to there website (letsgetchecked.com) to look for more details about the product and on the website it is clear that this is an at home PSA test. I'm not sure who is doing their own blood draws, but I'll keep going to the doctor for mine.
I felt it was very misleading for them to state that it was an at home test for prostate cancer when we know that a pathology report is the only way to truly diagnose Prostate Cancer. I'm sure many uninformed or misinformed people will think this is a great substitute for seeing a doctor.
I hope everyone is doing well. Keep up the good fight,
Perry
