Greetings all. I thought I'd post an update on my situation. You'll remember I'm 86 yrs. old with a diagnosis of g9, T2b. I've completed primary rt and have 14 months of adt under my belt. My most recent psa--as of late April--was an undetectable <0.1. The bad news--in June I was hospitalized in intensive care with blood clots on my lungs. I was treated with a clot buster medication that no doubt saved my life and have recovered fully at this point. Both my urologist and radiation oncologist blame the megastrol I took to control adt hot flashes. My urologist--and hospital physicians--want me to drop the ht to be on the safe side, though Lupron rarely causes such a side effect. Next month I will have completed 15 months of adt. Presently I'm on a blood thinner so doing 3 more months of adt is doable--without the megastrol of course. My present psa is undetectable and I'm going for the cure so a full 18months on adt may be worth the risk for 3 more months. I've got this one shot at it. What think you?
