In the past several weeks I have read posts from Wings of Eagles, InTheShop, DougS, Almost a 10, JerryL and of course my super zero hero Todd1963. Some of these guys have advanced metastatic disease. I just had my latest PSA done and it is still <0.01. Even in the face of a dire sounding diagnosis many of us doing great years later.New meds seem to be approved every few months. Yes, we have a serious disease and too many guys are still dying. But many of us are learning to live. And this site continues to do a great job educating. Here's to a new year of discovery and a new year of greater health to all our brothers here.

Hear hear gobucks! This is the primary message we hope to be passing on...that PCa, in it's low to intermediate stages is truly curable, and in it's advanced stages is manageable for extended periods of time--like years.

Thanks for the uplifting message, GoBucks. I am only a year and a half post chemo, and two years post diagnosis, but all the newbies need to hear this message. There is hope! I have Stage IV, Metastatic Prostate Cancer and the doctors treat is like a long term disease (not terminal). Again, hear this ... although it cannot be cured, it can be managed. Many guys are living 10, 12 , 15 years and longer. Don't read or listen to the abundant crap on the internet. Rely on good information. Be hopeful!

I definitely qualify as a scared newbie. I went today for my official 3 month post RPA bloodwork. Hopefully I earn my first < sign.
I am doing a bit of an experiment. I had two scripts. One for just the uPSA from the surgeon, and another for the metabolic panel from my primary, who out of habit includes PSA along with everything else (a1c, cholesterol, lipids etc....). I went to Quest. I am curious to see the results side by side. smile. A bit of a PCa technology experiment.
Really though, I am nervous. I try not to think about it but its difficult.
