As inevitably happens when a serious event such as this pandemic occurs, all sorts of rumors begin to emerge and spread, about
as quickly as the virus itself.
Some of these rumors can cause panic and fear, some confusion, while some are just plain silly.
But they do abound in times such as these, and they can cause at the very least fear and sometimes even damage.
The link below is to FEMA's Coronavirus Rumor Control page. It addresses some of the more outrageous rumors now circulating re the virus, and posts facts that dispel each of them, and present the actual truth of the situation in each case.
For example, some of the rumors out there now that are addressed on the page:
FEMA is seizing medical supplies
FEMA is deploying the military/National Guard
There is to be a national lockdown/quarantine
and even
5G cell phone technology is causing the coronavirus
among others.
Obviously an interesting read, not that any of us would ever believe such things. But there are people out there who do, and it's useful to know just what some people are actually quite ready to believe when it comes to the virus and its impact on their lives.
