For those who enjoy the subtler differences between British and American English:
An American and English woman are talking.
American Woman: "Do you have children?"
English Woman, perplexed: "Yes, occasionally"
---------------------------------
An English chap is in a U.S. diner. The waitress comes over towards the end of his meal:
Waitress: "Did you want dessert?"
English chap: "I still do."
---------------------------------
WWII sign in an English pub: "English is spoken -- American understood"
---------------------------------
This is a true story. A Brit I once worked with was on his first trip to the States. He got from Kennedy Airport into NYC,and first thing, went into a coffee shop and ordered a coffee:
Barista: "Do you want that to go?"
Brit: "Do I want it to go where?"
