Where do you get your Lupron/Eligard shot? Any reason why?

By the way, I did get my Lupron shots in the tush. I also got my first Eligard shot in the tush. For my second Eligard shot the nurse gave me the option of in the arm or stomach. She said giving the shot in the tush was a mistake. So, I was thinking WTH? I looked it up later and the tush is listed as an appropriate site for Eligard.

Medical Oncologists injection suite, in my butt last time but in my side before at the Urologists office. The side shot hurt more and longer.

My PCP. No urologist on Saipan then (2018) or now. In 2019 the Saipan hospital opened an oncology clinic and I see an MO there now. I'm sure if I ever need to go back on ADT the onco clinic will be the place.
Btw, Eligard in the stomach. No big deal.

Shot of ZOLADEX, in the abdomen ...
I used to get my ADT injections in the urology department ---- but that involved waiting for an oncology nurse to arrive from the oncology department --- where those medications are stored.
In time, it became SO MUCH MORE efficient to simply receive my shot after seeing my oncologist --- in the oncology department!

The reason why I ask is that I have always received my shot at the urologist and have seen him every 6 months with my shot. I have no urological problems post RALP so I see no need to keep going there. My MO office is right down the street and way more convenient. Just curious where other guys get shot.

Hello, GoBucks ----
In my experience, I have been well served in the oncology department, for receiving my monthly ADT shot.
The nurses there are quite skilled and experienced --- due to training in infusions for chemotherapy.
For you, there is ALSO the added benefit of proximity --- by switching your injection over to oncology.
I simply told my urologist that I was going to start receiving my monthly shot through my oncologist --- because my primary care had really shifted over to oncology by that time, anyway.
You could get all this set up with a couple of phone calls - or get an appointment booked through your patient portal online.
Transferring my ADT shot over to the oncology department worked out much better for me --- no regrets, whatsoever.
They have also taken care of my annual flu shot - as well as other proactive vaccines for pneumonia, shingles, and so forth.
Now I am hoping they will soon have a corona vaccine waiting for me, as well!
Just my experiences to share ---

I got mine at the urologist's office. It's been awhile, but as I recall, that's what my rad oncologist recommended.

Richard...didn't you mention that the Saipan hospital opened an oncology clinic recently?
Hopefully that's where your island mate is being evaluated.
