Hello, SteveO ~~~
Always thankful to see new posts from you!
WOW! Stunning results received from your latest PSA test. Hey --- it's working!
I think your post underscores something very important, that many doctors overlook --- the importance of measuring TESTOSTERONE, if you are on any form of ADT (such as LUPRON, FIRMAGON, or ZOLADEX, for example) --- because you want to make sure that your ADT shot is keeping the testosterone level low, to help keep things under control.
My first doctor failed to measure my testosterone, at all. Huge oversight on his part --- by the time I added my trusted and true oncologist to my medical team, he found major spikes in my testosterone --- and so we needed to explore other forms of ADT shots --- in my particular case, ZOLADEX worked the best.
Any fellow out there on ADT --- the next time you do your usual labs, along with PSA, make certain to ask your doctor to have a testosterone test run, as well. You're already doing labs, anyway --- and you just want to make sure your ADT is doing its job, to the greatest extent possible.
SteveO --- your post showing both PSA and TESTOSTERONE is a great example of the more "complete" picture for those of us on ADT shots --- because of the correlation. My oncologist was VERY disappointed that my first doctor failed to assess testosterone, when I started on ADT. Now it's just part of my usual lab routine, as it should be.
SteveO --- your report is the BEST NEWS OF THE DAY!
You have vigilantly pursued treatments --- and your report is tremendous!
The weekend is creeping closer --- definitely time to mark the moment, and CELEBRATE!
Handshake of congratulations, from "one brother to another brother" --- from across the miles ~~~
