Since the time of its beginning, the Christmas season has been celebrated as a time of peace, in its imagery, its carols, and its message.
It can be a powerful force for the encouragement, and even the emergence, of peace.
Wouldn't it be so wonderful if peace, often with the help of the power of Christmas to inspire, could just
break out from time to time, with the rapidity and power that occur so often when
war breaks out?
Well, that very thing has happened at least once in history, just about
a hundred years ago, as the video below recounts.
It really was a historical event, although it sounds like something out of fiction.
But it shows the power of Christmas, and how, in an almost magical way, Christmas has the power to create a moment of peace in people's lives, if only for a short moment, and to touch our lives so meaningfully.
So enjoy this video commemoration of an extraordinary historical event, one that celebrates the power of Christmas to bring ... peace.

But I don't think it hawks its product to the degree that it violates forum rules, since it's pretty low-key as commercials go, and the first 3:19 of it is just so poignant that I thought it was worth sharing).
PEACE be with everyone, for this Christmas season and beyond!
