A little bit on BAT

A tidbit on BAT from the PCa Foundation. If the co-director of Johns Hopkins PCa Program thinks BAT is worth pursuing maybe it gives some credence. As far as I know, trials so far have given mixed results. Apparently there are other trials underway around the world.

If they can get things sorted out, maybe BAT can become another effective PCa management tool. Wouldn't it be nice to get a big shot of T occasionally? 🙂

My understanding is the treatment is only available in trials. Very few Uros or MOs would stick their necks out to use this treatment before FDA approval. As with almost any new drug treatment for PCa, the castrate resistance guys go to trials first, which is the way it should be. They need approval sooner than the rest of us. The frustrating part for me is it doesn’t take a genius to figure out that what’s good for a CR guy will also be good for a castrate sensitive guy. Yet, the FDA then requires years long studies on CS guys for approval on the same treatment.

My understanding is there are some guys out there sort of doing BAT on their own with little or no medical supervision. Yikes!!!
