Wondering if anyone else had this side effect issue......

I am a 4+5=9 Gleason, Stage 3 diagnosed in January 2020.....got an ADT shot a month later then had HD Brachtherapy Triple Play beginning April 21, 2020 at UT Southwestern - Dallas. I was put on 2 years of hormonal therapy beginning 2-14-20 and my final six-month Lupron shot was on 9-7-2021. Today, I am 0.05 PSA. My radiation treatments ended on 5-29-2020. I had no real side effects from the first 3 hormonal shots, but I starting having chronic diaherra issues about 3 months after my final ADT. It has reached the point I had to go buy pins because sometimes it came faster than I could make it to the toilet sometimes. I assume this could be a side effect of either Lupron or radiation. My question is simple......have any of you expereinced chronic daily diaherra during or at the end stages of your ADT hormonal treatments? Could this be delayed reaction fromn the radiation treatments nearly 2 years ago.,I am going to address this with my Oncologist at next consult on 3-7-22. I wish everyone the best.

Been taking Imodium tablets....helped some but does not seem to be the answer for me so I'll ask my Oncologist for a recommended brand. It may not be related to either radiation or ADT either. Thanks for your tip F8.

My first round of radiation treatment (3 & 1/2 months after RARP) was 72 Gy to the prostate bed and surround. Diarrhea started soon after treatment ended. The radiation side effect nadir (maximum) was 3 years and 6 months after RT ended. I had frequent sudden daily diarrhea and severe intestinal cramps that got steadily worse over those 3+ years. I also had radiation proctitis, really bad inflammation, cramping and anal bleeding for the same duration. Gratefully, my RO had warned me of these side effects. The very worst intensity of those side effects was right at the nadir, pretty much exactly, and very much in line with other PCa board members experiences. It hurt so bad I just wanted to cry. I am sure some here remember my comments at the time revolving around my frequent, explosive bowel movements. My colon took the sight of a clean toilet as a personal challenge and had a ready remedy.

Now, the Lupron and Eligard have their own discomfiting side effects as well. Despite stopping Eligard at the last scheduled injection last Dec 5, I still have those, including a very nice little nausea episode yesterday while trying to get some work done. These cancer treatments are not for the faint-of-heart.

My RO said that current practice is more accurate and uses less intense radiation than they did 9 years ago. Recovery from radiation treatments can take a very long time, however. I am still enjoying the side effects from last years 106 Gy treatment, though that was higher up and roasted my small intestine rather than my large intestine this time around.

Do a search for Lupron side effects, and take what they say as a starting point. Example: They state that leuprolide chemotherapy "may cause itching, rash and skin irritation" when what they mean is you may get a full - blown case of shingles or pruritis, among other fun things.
