I have had a series of chemo infusions and so have quite a few of us here.
It's not a Sunday walk in the park, but I fared pretty well --- and kept teaching full-time.
I also had 45 radiation treatments --- over the course of nine weeks. I also continued teaching during all those treatments, too.
My lesson learned?
Never discount a treatment that has the potential to help you.
Sometimes, we "gotta' do what we gotta' do" --- and both of these treatments helped me, just when I needed treatments the very most.
New medications and treatments are emerging --- these past treatments have allowed me to keep "kicking the can" down the road since my diagnosis in 2013.
We're here to support you here, with first-hand experiences, if you embark upon a series of chemotherapy or radiation treatments.
Keep your mind open --- they have improved these treatments in recent years.
I can't promise you it's all going to be easy, but I will say treatments can pay great dividends.
I'm here today, because of proactive past treatments --- suggested by my medical team.
We live to fight another day!
Stay vigilant - stay proactive - stay DETERMINED!
