Since completing my IMRT on 8/23/2021 my PSA has been incresing as follow:
9/22/2021 0.12
12/24/2021 0.13
3/24/2022 0.19
5/06/2022 0.3
PSADT is now 5.9 months. I met with my MO and he is scheduling a PSMA pet scan. The plan is to see whether the cancer local or has metastasized. I guess ADT is in the near future.

i'm sorry to hear that ed but honestly at your age my PSA would have to be a lot higher before i would go on ADT. i'm hoping you get some good news!

Ed,
I think I would be looking quite a ways down the road before starting ADT. I'm not sure your age matters much -- I know you're very active and otherwise apparently healthy. Calculating doubling time at your PSA range may not be very accurate. You may be able to delay ADT for quite some time before it's really needed.
I hope I'm not out of bounds by suggesting you can relax for some more rounds of golf.🙂

Psa readings can be such downers.
Your radiation, was it just to the prostate bed or to all of the pelvic nodes?

Ed - My Dad had Lupron in his late 80’s after his Brachy seeding failed and PSA had crept up too far. He said it was not a big deal other than loss of hair under arms, etc. He did it for 2 years and stopped with a low PSA. He is 94 now and he has not looked at his PSA since 90. His doctors say that something else will get him first which will be his heart at this point.

Ed, its possible that the scan would pick up a hot lymph node that can be radiated, which might at least kick the can down the road a bit. Not sure if your psa is high enough to show it, but i have heard of this happening before.
And yeah, delay ADT as long as you can

IMHO ED, your news is FAR from bad, and your positive news outcomes abound.
Try waiting to see what your PSMA Pet scan shows, before you start worrying.
Good luck, and my gut tells me, you'll be fine....there GOOD NEWS
