This may be a stupid question, but I've had to adjust my abdominal binder a couple of times since the surgery yesterday because it was getting a bit tight due to swelling in my midsection. Curious if others here have experienced the same thing and it's considered "normal" following this procedure.

I never used an abdominal binder, so I can't really say. Peculiar gas pains, bloating, etc etc are part of abdominal surgery, especially RALP because they inflate your belly with CO2 so they can play around in there with room to spare.

Be prepared for odd aches for a while as things re-settle into what will become their new locations.

I never had a binder, but I do remember the excruciating shoulder the first two nights after my RALP. This was caused by carbon dioxide used to inflate your belly. If it wasn't for that, Aleve would have taken care of my pain.

I didn’t have an abdominal binder either, but I can see how it would have become uncomfortable due to the bloating I had while waiting for my intestines to wake up. That shoulder pain was my biggest issue, followed by my t-shirt rubbing on the incisions as I became more mobile and could go for longer walks.
