A few days after Jeff had his first infusion of Keytruda, his eye was droopy.
I was concerned about additional brain tumors and called oncology.
They brought Jeff in the following day for an appointment.
Keytruda is prone to making muscles weak. It generally presents in the eyes, but has the potential to affect all muscles, including the heart.
As only one of his eyes were droopy, they tentatively wrote it off to being something else and referred Jeff to neurology.
Due to a fiasco with his recent insurance change, he missed the neurology appointment.
We saw oncology today.
Pretty grim appointment.
Oncologist is still concerned he had reaction to Keytruda. Or as I originally feared, he has additional brain tumors.
Oncologist nixed the Keytruda treatment today.
Jeff needs an MRI of his brain and we need to ensure there are no significant changes in his health by next week.
Pending MRI and overall health, they MIGHT administer Keytruda next week.
Oncologist does not feel there is a “next” treatment if Keytruda fails.
We are nearing the beginning of the end. (Hospice)
Current PSA 1091.
