Off topic rant

We have done it. As a society we have idiot proofed our culture. We have done it for so many generations now that people no longer possess common sense. We have disrupted the natural order of society we have vetoed the law of the jungle. Kill or be killed, eat or be eaten is an enduring truth. There will come a day when calamity strikes and the younger generations will collapse and cannibalize itself. I only hope I am far away when it happens

There is a Home on our little gravel road. It was such a beautiful home. It was picturesque with manicured lawn and beautiful landscaping. The owners divorced and were forced to sell. King County nerd hippies purchased the property. Claiming to be homesteaders they have let their lawn grow and it is now as tall as the windows of the home all the way around. I have seen finer manicured hayfields than their lawn.

Yesterday I was finally able to brush hog the bank leading up the road away from our home. It is too steep to mow and it has been too wet to use the brush hog. As I was on the tractor enjoying my long awaited chore I noticed literally hundreds of rodents running down the bank across the lawn and into the woods. Hundreds no kidding hundred!! it was like Willard. They were voles. Underground nesters that breed faster than rabbits and burrow the entire property. The neighbor up the street does not realize it because he’s an idiot that he has turned his entire home into a rodent sanctuary. They are young they have small children and all the predators that feast on these rodents will soon be invading The newly formed hunting ground.

Today I texted them and basically said it’s your lawn you can do what you want but you may want to consider these possible outcomes. Not to mention that it’s going to be a hot week and a half here in the Pacific Northwest and all it will take is one spark for their home to go up in flames. In return I received a middle finger emoji.

This is why we are not to disrupt the law of the jungle. The entire Columbia Gorge went up in a cloud of smoke because some dumb ass kid in his teens was never taught not to throw a smoke bomb into the woods.. The idiots are suppose to die from being stupid. Now they survive. They have children who will be even more ignorant Because they will grow up thinking the nosy neighbor down the street is a jack*** when he’s actually trying to do them a favor.

No more participation trophy’s If you didn’t win you get the same stupid white participation ribbon I got.

Sorry man, but I couldn't help myself from chuckling about that. Punk kids these days.

I maintain a 62 acre conservation land plus 30 acre pond. When I mow trails all summer long and when I mow the fields in the fall I see lots of voles running below the cutting height of the brush cutter. We have coyotes and foxes that eat the voles, a nearby family of bobcats, fisher cats, beavers, otters, snapping turtles - you name it. This is where they all belong -- hiding from or hunting each other. I love working there. But I wouldn't want to share the critters' lifestyle.

Todd that’s a tough one man. Can’t you call the health department or something?

If there are no solutions, and you’re concerned about these rodents making there way to your castle, maybe buy a family of rattlesnakes and spread them around his house. And print out this emoji 🖕, and stick it on his front door

I agree that polite society is on the wane.
Self centered thinking seems to be taking a dominant role today. I think the internet with YouTube and Facebook has exposed the 15 minutes of fame mindset where everyone is a Star.
Keep faith as things change and the big wheel keeps turning.
I have hope and see all around see examples all around. I take public transportation in Manhattan and just yesterday a young lad who with his hoodie and demeanor could have been taken as a gangbanger got up and gave me his seat. This is not rare in fact 99 out of a hundred, young people have done this sometimes with a kind word.
Thousands of times a day there are acts of kindness in NYC but the media seldom gives them notice be it giving a seat directions or whatnot.
I'm a half full type and do have faith that things will change for the better.
There will always be A holes but there is also some wonderful people out there.

It was evening rush hour, and we were the only tourists among people who had been working hard all day. Yet several people insisted we take their seats. There are good, decent people everywhere in this world — I am always puzzled by the disconnect between that ordinary decency and the strident, nasty reality of politics.

Interesting point. I've read that bee's have been losing population. Heck even mosquitos play a role as I understand it.
So there is always another side to things.
I suppose maybe a little give and take is in order
I have another strange story. An old lady in a building I lived in actually fed cockroachs.
Gross! She was off her rocker and was eventually evicted but the damage was done. I moved as soon as I could.
So I guess even nature can get out of hand.
Now I'm sorry I remembered that as it was a horrible situation.

Hi Todd, gosh you are so right!!!!! The stupidty of the American People has now spread out of Washington and into the streets of America!!!!!!!!!!! With out going into a rant and getting this post shut down I'll just say that if this craziness doesn't stop I fear for every hard working, decent American out there! We need a cure for cancer and a cure for this great land of ours! We know common sense would be a great place to start for one of these conditions, heck maybe it would also help with cure's for cancer, diabetes and etc. Lot of money in the medical establishment in this country as we have seen during all this covid stuff. As far as your new neighbors give them some time if you can they won't last long in those conditions, back in the 70's we had all these rich kids come up here to northern mn to live off the woods over 80% didn't last two years! When the going gets tough jump on that bike and ride and don't forget to rev it a little when you go by the neighbors!!!
