Cabazitaxel chemotherapy blood tests

I'll be starting Cabazitaxel chemotherapy in a couple weeks. My doctor said they only do blood tests before each infusion and not during the cycles. My understanding is that for the first cycle, blood tests should be done at the start of week one and week two. It may be that at the new lower dose of 20mg per square meter, they are not required. It's a much lower risk for sure.

Wondering if anyone here has done Cabazitaxel with no blood tests at week one or week two after infusion. I didn't have these interim blood tests with Docetaxel, but I know Cabazitaxel is more suppressive of white counts.

Don't want to be taking excessive risk, but would like to know what people's experience has been.

Wanted to see how your chemo infusions with cabazitaxel have gone?

I went through chemotherapy with TAXOTERE some years ago ~ six infusions, given three weeks apart, from August through November.

I hope your side effects were few.

Chemotherapy wasn't a "Sunday walk in the park" for me ~ but my oncologist watched over me like a brother and I fared pretty well, looking back on the experience.

I really focused on eating healthy foods, drinking extra water, and setting an earlier bedtime.

I continued to teach school full-time during treatments, and leaned that I needed evenings and weekends to rebound.

I hope this finds you doing your best.

I hope your chemotherapy infusions were beneficial, tolerable, and most of all ~ IMPACTFUL!
