I had a robot assisted inguinal hernia repair about 1.5 years after RALP surgery and adjuvant radiation. My surgeon said he had successfully operated on a number of post prostate treatment patients without incident but the surgery takes longer dissecting adhesions and scar tissue. He said there always is the possibility of having to switch to open surgery if it gets too difficult but he has not had that problem.
If I made it, straight radiation treatment should be no problem for an experienced robotic surgeon. There are a number of hernia surgeons that do not do robotic surgery and claim it is a not a good method. Not my experience so I am a fan of it.
