Hi. I sincerly hope everyone is doing well despite our common demon. Its been a while and I am looking at one year since my final lupron shot.
I have learned that every mile post brings concern about recurrance. I guess that will be a life long thing. I'm sure someone in this forum has the same emotional experience?

Just about everyone who is following his disease status has this anxiety, including me.

Good to hear from you again!

We're a band of brothers here ~ and we all stand alongside each other.

Each one of us has dealt with worrisome thoughts, sleepless nights, and anxiety along the way ~ that upcoming visit to the lab, that unexpected uptick in a PSA score, or that concerned look on a doctor's face during a consultation.

With that being said ~ stay connected to family and friends ~ seek out those trusted confidantes that you can "talk things over with" ~ and never underestimate the support that abounds here.

In my case, there's nothing like a walk outside to deal with worrisome thoughts and anxiety.

No one here fights alone & we all stand alongside each other!

While you are on ADT the PSA tests won't mean much. But then periodically we go in for the PSA test and the result thereof is the focus of a lot of anxiety, especially for the first several years. For a while, each test would make me anxious and when I got the result (always negative, so far), I'd rejoice. Five years out, I expect a good outcome from each test and I'm pretty relaxed about the tests, and at this point I expect a good result.

I should note that it takes as long to recover from leuprolide chemotherapy (Lupron, Eligard etc) as you were on it so PSA results won't be real useful until then.

Acoustic4, yup, PSA anxiety is the norm here, unfortunately. I am 4 years out from my last 3 month lupron shot, and still get the heebie jeedbies when PSA day rolls around. So you've got plenty of company. I imagine as the years hopefully roll by filled with undetectables, we start to relax a bit.Till then, hang in there, and breathe
