Ever wonder what kinds of meals hospital patients in other countries are served during their in-patient stays?
Well, as one might suspect, their meals pretty much reflect the cuisine of the countries, their countries, that they are in.
And the article below shows just that, providing a quick pictorial tour of photos of just what breakfast, lunch, etc, might look like to an Australian, German, Spaniard, and others in hospital.
From the article below:
"Hospital food is also something just about nearly everyone on the planet has tried before — it's one of those universal human experiences that unites us."
"While most people have likely experienced a hospital dinner in their home country, they probably haven't encountered one abroad. Still, the question might pique your curiosity: What do people in other countries eat when they have to go to the hospital?"
"The nurse training program Sunbelt Staffers recently collected data from "hospital patient catering menus" from countries around the world, and then recreated the meals hospital visitors are most likely to eat." I thought the ten sample meals displayed in the article below seemed to be more or less what I might have expected from each country. Such as chicken in the U.S meal, strudel in the German meal, etc.
But I also thought the Russian meal seemed a bit meager compared to the others. (An indication of the perceived draconian nature of Russian life? Or am I reading too much into that?)
So imagine for a moment you're sitting up in your bed in a hospital in one of these countries
U.S.
Spain
