Hurricane time!
I can just about
set my watch by it every year.
August comes to North Central Florida, and with it a tropical storm or even a full-fledged hurricane, ready to pop the state right in the jaw with heavy winds and a torrential downpour for a while.
This year it's Tropical Storm Debby, likely to soon become Hurricane Debby (Cat 1 or 2), and, yes, we're paying attention here:
https://www.wcjb.com/2024/08/04/live-blog-tropical-storm-debby-intensifies-expected-strengthen-into-hurricane-before-landfall/It will do its little dance now, as to which direction it will finally go in, maybe within the cone of uncertainty, maybe not.
But it will do that, come and go just like all the others have done.
Best hopes for all the other Florida dwellers here on the forum, that, once again, it will just be wind and rain for a while, minimal damage to anybody, and then back to normal after a day or two.
But for now it's batten down the hatches!
It's going to be a long, windy, rainy night here in Gainesville!
