Switching from Eligard to Orgovyx

Has anyone switched from Eligard (or any Lupron like hormone therapy) to Orgovyx? I’m due for my next six month Eligard shot in the coming weeks. I’ve heard Orgovyx has a much faster testosterone recovery time. I’m planning on discussing with my MO next week but was wondering if anyone else has made this switch. In the six months on Eligard I’ve had some side effects but not all. Could Orgovyx potentially introduce more? I’d really like to have to opportunity to get T back sooner rather than later since I’ll be on HT for at least 18 months.

On a separate topic, in terms of anyone who’s gone through 18-24 months plus of hormone therapy, how was your recovery in terms of libido and lingering ED? After six months, I still have a libido, but it seems “different”. Potency seems fine too, for now anyway..Not sure about what this will be like after another year so out of fear I’ve also started some preemptive rehab in that area with the use of Trimix. Took a bit of getting used to but once you’ve got it down, it’s great..rocket fuel.

T-recovery is faster and Orgovyx has a better cardiovascular safety profile The big difference is cost. Ive heard it is way more expensive than a shot.

I switched from Firmagon to Orgovyx after the first month and a bad reaction. The SEs came on fairly fast. They were typical of having low to no T level. I know some here have described having brain fog on other forms of ADT. I did not have that SE. I did have lack of energy in the afternoon, hot flashes, extra weight gain in the gut, increased boob size and no libido. Orgovyx dropped my PSA to undetectable and my T Level to zero. I was on Orgovyx for 18 month and found that I could mitigate most of the SEs with exercise and keeping cool. As far as no libido that was no problem as my wife was on ADT for breast cancer at the same time. I found that my eyes would leak when I watched sad movies. Within six weeks of getting off Orgovyx my energy level picked back up along with my libido. I still have the boobs. My Uro was able to get a one month supply of daily pills for a little over $40.00/month.

Another option is to switch to lower duration Eligard shots as you approach the final six months of your ADT period. Theoretically your T recovery will be quicker following a one month shot than a six month shot. You are tolerating Eligard well so just stay on it and go to monthly shots for the last six months rather than a final six month shot. Your doc will like it as well as you will pay for six office visits and injection fees instead of one.
