Interesting week - follow up with URO

Had some bloody urine for a few days then called to get an appointment with the URO - he was out of the office but I saw one of the PA's for the URO group (she is excellent).
Did a kidney ultrasound and found a stone and found a bladder stone - her instincts told her it was the bladder stone causing the blood.
I went in for a cysto litholapaxy where they break up the stone or if unable, remove it...all went well and the bleeding cleared the next day.
URO scheduled me for a PET scan to make sure they aren't missing anything, I'm going in for that on Oct 30th

Glad they found the problem. I'm wincing at the procedure, doesn't sound fun at all. Drink lots of cranberry juice!

Cystoscopy is something I don't ever want to experience.

Had a CT Scan Urogram, which included the kidneys, two weeks ago, among other things it showed a couple of very small kidney stones. Dr said as long as they stay small and I have no symptoms, I should just leave it alone, which I will

One other "good" thing from the procedure is that since you are on General anesthesia anyway, the Uro can look for lesions in the bladder and can assess the size of the urethra, checking for strictures. No addtional issues were found.
Stone is sent out for analysis, interesting that they sent it to Mayo (I'm in NJ), I'll ask about that on my next appointment.
