A new year often brings new challenges and new friends. But it can also be an opportunity to remind ourselves of the remaining presence of old friends we have had from earlier year(s), both human and institutional.
A chance to learn more about
them.
Institutional as in this very forum, Healingwell, both in terms of the history of it and the people who have been behind it.
This link is to an information page right here on our forum website, which talks about
Healingwell, and gives great information about
it, and about
the folks who run it.
https://health.healingwell.com/index.php/health-conditions/?s=moderatorsThese are the people who, along with the structure of the forum, will lead us into and through 2025, and likely will most ably do so, to judge from their performance in past years.
Our forum leaders:
Peter Waite, Founder and CEO
Phillip Waite, Ph.D (and Peter's brother), Chief Health Advisor
Jacque Parker, R.N., Medical Reviewer
Beth Hendrickson, R.N., Medical Reviewer
We have already known a few facts about
Peter, and now we can learn some more, as well as getting to learn about
the others just above.
(BTW, The bios, photos included, given in the above link for the above four are pretty detailed).
A few other highlights from the above link (but do click on the link as well, to get even more info) :
"HealingWell.com was launched in 1997. Today it has more than 160,000+ community members, 20,000+ newsletter subscribers, and 370,000+ social media followers on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and LinkedIn. This site was created by Peter Waite, who was diagnosed with chronic illness over 20 years ago. Peter’s vision was to create a community where people could reach out and find support and understanding from others dealing with chronic illness. He also wanted to encourage people to help others dealing with similar health challenges and by doing so find healing themselves."
"HealingWell.com features a thriving support community, blog, videos, newsletter, articles and resources to help you actively manage the challenges of living with chronic illness. The goal is simple… to help you take control of your illness and start “healing well.”
"Over the years, HealingWell.com has been featured by several major media publications, including BBC Online, USA Today, MSNBC, the New York Times, the Associated Press, the Industry Standard, Reader’s Digest, PBS.org, Forbes, Wegohealth, Prohealth, and USA Weekend Magazine. HealingWell.com has also been the recipient of numerous awards. We have grown largely by word of mouth, serving millions of visitors around the world each month."Re our highly capable moderators, apparently they remain a little more "shadowy" in terms of particular bio details shared about
them on the HW website. But that's okay, as we already know from daily interaction with them that they continue to be a credit to moderatorship.
But it does seem worthwhile to take the time now and then to learn a bit more about
our forum leadership, especially since, as noted above, they are now leading us ably into a new year, as they have done so capably in the past.
Hurray for Healingwell.com and its leadership!
