Late October 2017, had a cervical CT that found a lesion within the right lobe of my thyroid. PCP ordered an US and the radiology report is below. Findings included two (2) intermediate suspicion hypoechoic lesions instead of just one (1) Lesion. I’m concerned about
the cyst within the left lobe more than the right. Anyone ever had/have similar initial findings? Any advice when I go see the endocrinologist??

Comments from the Doctor's Office
On the ultrasound, there were two cysts they saw that they recommend repeat imaging. I'm going to refer you to our Endocrinologists so they can take a look and see if a biopsy is needed. Let me know if you have any questions

IMPRESSION:
1. Heterogenous thyroid with increased vascularity.
2. Two intermediate suspicion hypoechoic thyroid lesions as described above. Follow-up ultrasound imaging is recommended.
* Lesions are classified using the American Thyroid Association guidelines of 2015. (Thyroid, Volume 26, #1, 2016)

Narrative
EXAM: US NECK, 11/13/2017 13:59 PM
CLINICAL INDICATIONS: Hypodense lesion within the right lobe of thyroid gland, seen on CT spine.
E07.89:Other specified disorders of thyroid
COMPARISON: No prior studies available for comparison.
TECHNIQUE: Real-time, grayscale ultrasound evaluation of the neck was performed in transverse and longitudinal orientations using a high-resolution linear array transducer. Color Doppler was utilized to assess vascular flow.
FINDINGS:
Background thyroid parenchyma is mildly heterogeneous with increased flow. The right lobe measures 4.3 x 1.4 x 1.4 cm and the le lobe measures 4.4 x 1.3 x 1.5 cm The isthmus is normal in appearance and measures 2 mm.
In the superior pole of the right thyroid there is a hypoechoic lesion measuring 0.6 x 0.4 x 0.6 cm. It has mild internal vascular flow on Doppler. There are no calcifications within the lesion. - Intermediate suspicion.
In the inferior pole of the le thyroid there is a hypodense lesion measuring 0.9 x 0.7 x 0.8 cm. There is mild internal vascular flow and moderate peripheral vascular flow on Doppler. There is a peripheral coarse calcification. -Intermediate suspicion.
