Hello, all,
Just want to inform you of a very unheard of nervous system disorder called Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS). I have it and was finally diagnosed last year after having six years of baffling issues and countless appointments. It was most often assumed that I had anxiety and/or thyroid issues, but I, in fact, have neither.
Primarily, POTS causes rapid heart rate and dizziness. Other symptoms can include: fainting, low or high blood pressure, blood pooling in the legs, gastro issues, heat intolerance, exercise intolerance, fatigue, etc., all resulting from the body's inability to adjust to the pull of gravity. I joined this site to try to help others and to spread awareness. Some people with POTS I have talked with have both POTS and a thyroid problem, but often, the two conditions are confused.
I won't go on and on, as I realize it is possible none of you have POTS. Just keep this information in mind, and feel free to message me with any questions, or just to chat.
Thank you, and best wishes to you all!
B
