I have (another) question on thyroid testing ...
My tsh had been getting lower (officially in the low range 5 weeks ago) since August, and the free T4 was getting higher (not as fast as the TSH was getting lower though).
I was given a script
to get it rechecked in 6 weeks, but had it done earlier this week, because I couldn't make it to be tested at the exact 6 week mark (and with the end of the year, I wanted to get it done before my insurance deductible reset).
Anyway, i got the new results from the lab today (no word as of yet from doctor's office, due to the holiday):
*TSH went from being .38 (normal range 0.450-4.500) five weeks ago, to 1.62 (0.450-4.500) earlier this week. (both of these tests were done at the same lab).
*The T4 free(direct) went down to 1.17 (normal range 0.82-1.77)
I understand that the levels fluctuate, but the TSH seems like a huge change
Just wondering if that's normal to happen, and if not, what could it indicate?
