with ibd does that mean your immune system is not working properly?

I cant remember what the Dr said but I remember something about the imune system.

Does it make you more suseptable to other desises.

IM just SO SO tierd . But I dont know if its from this because Imnot having any D anymore so I assume that means I am in remission ? I was only diagnosed about a month ago and my Dr hasnt told me allot . He prescribed 2 asocol 3 times a day but I mistakenly took only 1 pill 3 times a day but he said if its working then stick with it and the lowest amount possible is always best .
I assume the only outward sign we have of whats going on inside is if we get d or not correct ? If no D then IM ok ? I dont even have any more appointments as he said just call if I have problems so I guess Im on my own .

Not necessarily mom4321, not having D is only part of the battle, there are many other symptoms involved with having IBD...it's important to report any changes to your doc but you do get to a point of really starting to know what's going on with your body, you will become more in-tune with symptoms so long as you pay close attention to what happens with yourself...in some ways, the longer you have the disease the easier it gets to detect when things are changing (good or bad), so long as you keep on top of things as best you can and work with your doc then hopefully you'll get a better handle on things in general....it's very over-whelming in the beginning of being DX because your life really changes but you still have some control, so long as you don't stress too much over things (symptoms and all) and you don't ignore any changes either, definitely a rock and a hard place but you'll manage, you have no choice, now is the time for your strength to take over.
