I have accupuncture somewhat regularly (except for the last 7 months - hospitalized with Charkot Disease and MRSA surgery unrelated to my colitis) and it has given me incredible energy and pain relief. We tried for six months to help my colitis - but sadly it didn't work for me. I plan on going back to continue my accupuncture treatments for pain relief, energy, and an overall feeling of well being - but not for colitis. My chinese doctor says that it helps some people and not others - without knowing why.
He did tell me not to use the chinese distilled little black herbal pills - he said they were ineffective and expensive - and told me to use the real herb "packets" that you have to boil. I however live in an area where the only purveyor of chinese herbs went out of business. Next time I am in San Francisco - or some other city with a very large asian population center, I intend to seek one out - and see if they can mail me the pouches. I did use one when I lived in SF - but not for colitis.
I hope it works for you - they are really expensive though.
love to all
